what is dueling for you?

i always dueled for fun because i love challenging myself and making new friends i recently dueled a moderator of a different academy he used an evil hero deck and treated me like dirt and in the end crushed me like it is dueling just a way to inflinct pain?

I've always dueled for fun as well and also because I love how much strategy can be involved with deck building (the deck building and seeing perform is so satisfying to me ^^). I also love the artwork on the cards haha.

Sad truth is though that a lot of people play today just like Geo said. To act like they're a badass because they use a stupid broken deck to wail on kids at a childeren's card game. They are pathetic human beings that apparently don't understand that games are meant for fun and good sportsmanship and to make friends. This is one of the main reasons why I avoid meta deck users because they usually lead into people like this or will eventually turn the person into this.

Players like us just have to deal with them, ignore them because we understand the fact that they have NO life since they think they are badass and amazing for beating you at a childeren's card game, then move on and find people like the the members of this academy who instead focus on having fun with the game and use it to have a good time and meet others.

But ya that is the reasons why I play anyway haha ^^

Edit: To correct on my previous statement yes there are a good handful of nice meta deck users and like IROCK said although I hate their decks the duelists themselves are cool guys/gals. Just wanted to clear that up lol ^^

I duel because it's fun, I make shitloads of new friends from it, (Daku, Gale, and Usay are just 3 out of maybe 25 i've made from yugioh in the last two months.)

I frown on the meta user who gets high on themself because they slaughter someone (normally unfairly) at a Children's Card Game. Although, I can't say I hate ALL meta users, as i've met a few that are relatively nice. Sure, I hate their OTK insta-win decks, but a few are pretty nice people. Plus, I use Dragunities, so I'm technically a meta-user too. I'm an example of a nice one ^^

And sometimes just want to kick peoples asses :3

Nowadays i play it for the thrill of challenging my skills, wit and knowledge against others and finding their view on one of my favourite games. And meeting awesome new people along the way helps

To me, its about beating people in close games and giving it my all against anyone.
